We are going back to the studio this Fall! But we are keeping the online option for those of you who prefer it or want to join us from home.

Saturday Morning Cartoons will be a space for aspiring animators to explore and develop their skills in 2D classical animation and other media, as well as collaborating and sharing their work under the guidance of our very skilled animation wizards. As well as in the studio, we are offering the program online as well for those more comfortable in a virtual space and to reach out to those interested in creating animation with us from around the world! 

The program contains both an individual component and opportunities for collaboration with other participants. Individually, participants may choose to work on their personal interest projects and community challenges and inspiration themes set at the beginning of each session with the aim of developing specific animation skills through the exploration of different techniques used in the medium by examples from masters in the field. Likewise, we will have several collaborative projects on the go, where participants can do their part in fun tandem animation exercises as well as re-animate and remix selected scenes from varied media as a group!

Animators will share the studio and virtual space with Mentors and will be encouraged to share their screens and their work with their Mentors and the group to walk through and troubleshoot technical issues as well as provide feedback and advice on how to hone the animation skills they are exploring. Sharing the work with the group in this way will be a great way to build our community and encourage the participants to spread their wings, creating and animating together.

Saturday, 10 am - noon

What do I need to participate online:

• Smart phone or tablet with a camera
• Computer, laptop or tablet with animation program installed
• Email address
• Zoom account

Daily schedule:

• 10:00am weekly presentation of Animation theme, principle, and creative prompt
• 10:15-10:50am animation exploration
• 10.50-11:00am break, animation short screening
• 11:00-11:45am animation exploration
• 11:45am animation progress showcase
• 12.00pm end of day.

HOW REGISTRATION WORKS

THE WAITING LIST IS MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE.

IMPORTANT!! PAYMENT IS DUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF ATTENDANCE. No payment is necessary during registration.

Click on the blue button “WAITING LIST” - you will be letting our team know that you are interested in joining/rejoining the program.

This DOES NOT secure your spot but adds you to the waiting list for confirmation by our team.

When we approve your registration, you will receive an email confirmation and a request for payment.

Those who have not paid the full amount by the due date, will lose their spot to applicants on the waiting list.

*All participants new and returning, must go through this registration portal, there will be no exceptions.

RETURNING PARTICIPANTS

Returning participants must re-register for each new term.

Please confirm if you would like to continue attending the program you are currently signed up for by completing the registration form.

Priority re-registration is given to those who currently attend a program. If you would like to maintain your spot, you must respect the re-enrollment deadline. Anyone not registered by the deadline will lose their priority and the spot will become available to the wait list.

NEW PARTICIPANTS

For all new participants to the program: If a spot is available, we will infinite you for an the Spectrum Productions Studio for an intake interview, during this meeting you will get an opportunity to meet the team, share more about yourself, and ask us any questions.

Animation du Samedi Matin en STUDIO ou EN LIGNE avec OPTION PLUS

Nous retournons au studio cet automne ! Les dessins animés du samedi matin seront un espace pour les animateurs en herbe pour explorer et développer leurs compétences en animation classique 2D et autres médias, ainsi que pour collaborer et partager leur travail sous la direction de nos génies d'animation très qualifiés. En plus du studio, nous proposons également le programme en ligne pour ceux qui sont plus à l'aise dans un espace virtuel et pour inviter ceux à l’international qui souhaitent créer de l'animation avec nous!

Le programme contient à la fois une composante individuelle et des possibilités de collaboration avec d’autres participant.e.s. Individuellement, les participant.e.s peuvent choisir de travailler sur leurs projets personnels ainsi que sur les défis collectifs et les thèmes d’inspiration présentés au début de chaque séance dans le but de développer des compétences d’animation spécifiques à travers l’exploration de différentes techniques utilisées dans le médium. De même, nous aurons plusieurs projets collaboratifs en production, où les participant.e.s pourront faire leur part dans des exercices d’animation amusants en tandem ainsi que réanimer et remixer des scènes sélectionnées à partir de médias variés en groupe !

Les créateurs.trices partageront l’espace virtuel avec les mentors et seront encouragés à partager leurs écrans et leur travail avec le groupe pour parcourir et résoudre les problèmes techniques, ainsi que recevoir des commentaires et des conseils sur la façon de perfectionner les compétences d’animation qu’ils.elles explorent. Partager le travail avec le groupe de cette manière sera un excellent moyen de construire notre communauté, en créant et en animant ensemble.

COMMENT FONCTIONNE L’ENREGISTREMENT

La liste d’attente est obligatoire pour tout le monde. Nous confirmerons votre inscription sous peu.

Le paiement complet est dû au plus tard le premier jour de participation.

Lorsque vous cliquerez sur l’enregistrement (bouton bleu "Waiting List"), vous ferez savoir à notre équipe que vous êtes intéressé à rejoindre le programme. Cela ne garantit pas votre place mais vous ajoute à la liste d’attente pour confirmation par notre équipe.
