We are going back to the studio this Fall! But we are keeping the online option for those of you who prefer it or want to join us from home.

This program allows participants to expand on their acquired animation and storytelling skills, taking them to the next level in an extended format of 3 hour sessions on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm, broken up into manageable segments online with breaks in between. With a focus on a project-based animation pipeline, participants will have a chance to develop and plan out their workflow for their own short animated films. They will also be given opportunities to contribute to larger group animation projects with some fun challenges and exercises along the way, broadening their understanding of the process from A to Z. Advanced Saturday Matinee Cartoons promises to be an illuminating animation experience full of movement, stories, experimentation, and donkey magic.

In the online format, we will do our best to recreate the studio atmosphere as everyone will be in the same virtual space with our talented mentors periodically checking in on progress and being available to answer any questions and give advice. This presents the opportunity for the rest of the participants to give their thoughts and feedback on the work they see and share, building a creative and robust animation community.

Each week, Advanced Saturday Matinee Cartoons will begin with a video presentation, showcasing a specified animation principle or technique. An optional animation challenge will then be issued and encouraged for participants to work on for the rest of the session, taking an inspiration break midway through to watch a fun animated short film reflecting the presentation shown at the top of the session. The end of the session is a time to share the work produced to celebrate the progress and creativity of our animation wizards.

What do I need to participate online:

• Smart phone or tablet with a camera

HOW REGISTRATION WORKS

THE WAITING LIST IS MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE.

IMPORTANT!! PAYMENT IS DUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF ATTENDANCE. No payment is necessary during registration.

This DOES NOT secure your spot but adds you to the waiting list for confirmation by our team.

When we approve your registration, you will receive an email confirmation and a request for payment.

Those who have not paid the full amount by the due date, will lose their spot to applicants on the waiting list.

*All participants new and returning, must go through this registration portal, there will be no exceptions.

RETURNING PARTICIPANTS

Returning participants must re-register for each new term.

Please confirm if you would like to continue attending the program you are currently signed up for by completing the registration form.

Priority re-registration is given to those who currently attend a program. If you would like to maintain your spot, you must respect the re-enrollment deadline. Anyone not registered by the deadline will lose their priority and the spot will become available to the wait list.

NEW PARTICIPANTS

For all new participants to the program: If a spot is available, we will invite you for an the Spectrum Productions Studio for an intake interview, during this meeting you will get an opportunity to meet the team, share more about yourself, and ask us any questions.

DESSINS ANIMÉS AVANCÉS DU SAMEDI APRÈS-MIDI - EN STUDIO ou EN LIGNE avec OPTION PLUS

Dimanche, 13 h à 16 h (14 sessions)

Ce programme permet aux participant.e.s d’élargir leurs compétences acquises en animation et en narration, les amenant au niveau supérieur dans un format étendu de séances de 3 heures le samedi de 13 h à 16 h, divisées en trois segments en ligne avec des pauses. En mettant l’accent sur un pipeline d’animation basé sur des projets, les participant.e.s auront la possibilité de développer et de planifier leur processus de travail (workflow) pour leurs propres courts-métrages d’animation. Ils.elles auront également l’occasion de contribuer à des projets d’animation de groupe plus importants avec des défis et des exercices amusants en cours de route, élargissant leur compréhension du processus de A à Z. Advanced Saturday Matinee Cartoons promet d’être une expérience d’animation éclairante pleine de mouvement et d’histoires, de l’expérimentation et de la magie de l’âne magicien.

Dans le format en ligne, nous ferons de notre mieux pour recréer l’atmosphère du studio car tout le monde sera dans le même espace virtuel avec nos mentors talentueux.euses vérifiant périodiquement l’avancement des participant.e.s et toujours disponibles pour répondre à toutes les questions. Cela présente l’occasion pour le reste des participant.e.s de donner leurs réflexions et leurs commentaires sur le travail qu’ils voient et partagent, créant ainsi une communauté d’animation créative et forte.

Chaque semaine, le club commencera par une présentation vidéo, exposant un principe ou une technique d’animation spécifique. Un défi d’animation facultatif sera ensuite lancé aux participant.e.s, qui auront le choix de le compléter pandant la séance. Nous prendrons une pause d’inspiration à mi-chemin pour regarder un court métrage d’animation amusant reflétant le principe présenté au début de la séance. La fin de la journée est un moment de partage du travail de tout le monde pour célébrer l’avancement et la créativité chaque participant.e.

COMMENT FONCTIONNE L’ENREGISTREMENT

La liste d’attente est obligatoire pour tout le monde. Nous confirmerons votre inscription sous peu.

Le paiement complet est dû au plus tard le premier jour de participation.
